NRMP Announcement - Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director - Ranking Option Opens

Dear Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship Program Director:

The 2008 Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship rank order list (ROL) function of the NRMP's Registration, Ranking and Results (R3) System opens at 12 Noon Eastern Time on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 for programs and applicants to enter their rank choices.
To participate in the match, both program directors and applicants must submit a certified ROL.

Please enter your preferred list of applicants as soon as possible and certify your ROL. Ranking for the 2008 Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship match will close at 9:00 pm eastern time, May 23, 2007. The entry of and/or modifications to program ROL will not be allowed after the deadline.

The URL for the NRMP system is: www.nrmp.org and click on Register/Login to access the R3 System. Information on creating an ROL can be found under Fellowship Matches in both User Guides and Rank Order Lists.

The listing of an applicant by a program on its certified rank order list or of a program by an applicant on the applicant's certified rank order list establishes a binding commitment to offer or to accept an appointment if a match results. Failure to do so is a violation of the Match Participation Agreement signed during registration. If a violation is confirmed, the applicant or program may be subject to penalties, as described in the NRMP Violations Policy.

Note: If you have no applicants to rank and want your program included in the List of Unfilled Programs, click on certify from the ROL function, enter your password and click submit.

We urge you not to wait until the last minute to enter your list. If you need assistance, please contact the NRMP office at (202) 862-6077 or toll free at 1-866-617-5834.

Regards,
NRMP Staff

Match Dates for Appointment Year 2009 | Change in NRMP policy

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship for the 2009 appointment year opens for registration, Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 12 noon eastern time. The match is conducted entirely on the National Resident Matching Program's (NRMP)Registration, Ranking, and Results (R3) System located on the NRMP's web site at www.nrmp.org.

Click on Register/Login to access the login screen for the R3 System and enter your AAMC ID number and password. Please use the AAMC ID number and password from last year's Match.

Please retain your AAMC ID number and password in a secure place for your quick reference whenever you need to access the R3 System. You will need it to update your program information, modify your program's quota, rank applicants, and retrieve your match results at the conclusion of the Match.

If you do not remember your assigned AAMC ID number and password, or if there has been a change in the program's director from last year, please contact the NRMP office at 1-866-617-5834 or 202-862-6077 for assistance.

Program directors should register in the R3 System as soon as possible after the January 23, 2008 opening of the Match. Please note a change in NRMP policy since last year's Match. At its May 2007 meeting, the NRMP Board of Directors made the ACGME designated institutional official (ACGME DIO) the NRMP institutional official (NRMP IO) for all fellowship matches in which the institution's programs participate. That information has been pre-loaded in the R3 System, and the new NRMP IO must activate your program for match participation and approve all quota changes, reversions, and other special requirements.

To identify the NRMP IO and information about the institution, select "My Institution Information" from the left menu bar in the R3 System. You will not e able to update any of your program information until the institution and program have been activated.

Please also note the following important dates for the Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship Match:

  • Match Opens: January 23, 2008
  • Rank Order List Opens: April 16, 2008
  • Quota Change Deadline: May 7, 2008

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the NRMP at 202-862-6077, or toll free 1-866-617-5834 or by e-mail: nrmp@aamc.org .

We look forward to another successful match!
Regards, NRMP Staff

Change in NRMP Policy

We wish to call to your attention a change in the NRMP policy. At its May 2007 meeting, the NRMP Board of Directors made the ACGME designated institutional official (ACGME DIO) the NRMP institutional official (NRMP IO) for all fellowship matches in which the institution’s programs participate.
