The goal of the Mentoring Program is to promote the career development of junior pediatric gastroenterologists. Mentors will provide guidance and support for fellows and junior faculty members, outside their own institutions. The primary goal of this relationship is to nurture the mentee’s professional development through an open two-way interaction.
Successful mentoring involves a dynamic process whereby each participant learns to respect and trust his/her partner’s commitment, expertise and individuality. A firm commitment to the mentoring process and a willingness to invest time and energy are the most important components for a successful relationship.
